Justification For Possible Drop In Coverage?

As we inch closer and closer to November 6th, every media outlet will begin focusing all its coverage on the presidential election. But with two months still to go, Al Jazeera's website is not completely loaded with election coverage.

The death sentencing of Iraqi VP Tariq al-Hashemi, center,  is currently the top story on Al Jazeera's website.

However, I don't criticize AJ for this decision. To begin with, it specializes in Middle East news, and Sunday there was a huge story with the Iraqi vice president being sentenced to death. That story certainly merits more coverage because of that specialization and the fact that right now it is actual news, while everyone knew at the beginning of this weekend that campaigning was still going on.

That said, AJ's election coverage has not disappeared at all. Check out this video, which asks if the DNC momentum will be enough to carry President Obama to a second term:

How do you think Al Jazeera's coverage will change in the two months before the election? If there are more breaking news events in the near future, particularly in the Middle East, how will that affect the coverage? Let me know what you think!
